Privacy

MyKpopList keeps only what it needs to run your account and the fan charts. There are no ads, no tracking cookies, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Your account

  • Username, email and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash. Your email is used to sign in and to reset your password, nothing else.
  • Profile photo and bio, if you add them.
  • Your lists, scores, biases and follows. These are the point of the site, so they’re public: anyone can see your profile, and your picks count toward the fan charts and taste matches.

Signing in and security

A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in; it’s the only cookie we set. For each signed-in session we record the IP address and browser, and we count recent sign-in attempts per IP address, to protect accounts from abuse.

How the site is used

  • Page views. We count daily views of artist and album pages to rank Trending comebacks. Only the totals are stored, nothing about who viewed. Your browser keeps a note for the day so a refresh isn’t counted twice.
  • Analytics. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights give us aggregate visit and performance numbers without cookies.
  • Errors. When something breaks, we log the error, the page and the browser type for 30 days so we can fix it.
  • Preferences. Light or dark mode is remembered in your browser only.

Where it’s stored

The site runs on Vercel. Account and list data live in a Neon Postgres database in Sydney, Australia; profile photos are stored with Vercel Blob.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It removes your profile, photo, lists, scores, biases, follows and reports immediately and for good.
